Rules:

1. Players earn points by qualifying and competing in any Race event. Players will receive points for finishing in the top 16 of any Race event
2. The 2014-2015 Race for 8 season will allocate the same amount of points for every race stop; no double points
3. Ties will be broken by head-to-head records within the rankings period, if possible. Ties that cannot be broken by head-to-head matchups will be broken by a random lottery draw when necessary to determine invites and seeding.
4. The Power Rankings will be a 12-month rolling system, and will be used for invites and seeding. Events will be immediately removed after 12 months, and replaced by the most recent version of the event. If an event is not held in the next year, that event will be removed and not replaced.
5. The Rankings reflect total points accrued by players. There is not a multiplier, best 7 out of 9, or any other format.
6. The Rankings will be updated within 72 hours of each ranking tournament
7. Race for 8 points with playoff: 1st: 10, 2nd: 8, tie 3rd: 6, 5th: 4, 6th: 3.5, tie 7th: 3.5, 9th: 2, 10th: 1.5, tie 11th: 1, tie 13th: .5. *The Simple Green U.S. Open plays off for 3rd and 4th place and 7th and 8th place. 3rd receives 6, 4th receives 5.5, 7th receives 3.25 points and 8th receives 3 points
8. The top 8 Race Point earners from the R48 IV season will be invited to The Player’s Championship in Salt Lake City and will be joined by four qualifiers that will qualify on the day before the Player’s Championship
9. The WPH will hold a random draw one-week before each Race Stop to place the number 3 and 4 seeds in the top or bottom of the draw, and a random draw to place the 5, 6, 7, and 8 seeds will also take place one week in advance of each event. The 4 qualifiers (9-12) will be randomly drawn to play the 5-8 seeds after the qualifier, and the qualifier finalists (13-16) will randomly draw to play the 1-4 seeds
10. Players that finish in the top 8 in the rankings after the Player’s Championship in Salt Lake City will be awarded bonus money, with the top-ranked player on the season receiving $10k
