Salt Lake City, UT WPH Press, 5/1/19- The World Players of Handball and Ace Recycling and Disposal are thrilled to present the 2019 Race 4 Eight Player’s Championship, May 17-19, 2019 at the Sports Mall, located at 5445 S 900 E, Murray, UT 84117. Fans will be treated to the best Men’s, Women’s, and Senior professional handball stars in the world battling for coveted Race 4 Eight Player’s Championship crystal, with all of the action broadcast live on ESPN3!

The 2019 Race 4 Eight Player’s Championship marks the 57th event in the history of the Race 4 Eight tour, with the tour spanning 16 states in in first eight seasons. Ace Recycling and Disposal has graciously hosted the Race 4 Eight tour more than any other venue, boasting its eighth consecutive year of welcoming the greatest stars in the sport to Salt Lake City. Three-time defending R48 Men’s Pro Player’s Champion and R48 #1 Killian Carroll will be seeking an unprecedented R48 Player’s Championship four-peat in Salt Lake City, WR48 #1 Catriona Casey will be seeking her sixth consecutive WR48 Player’s Championship, and SR48 #2 Marcos Chavez will be seeking his third consecutive SR48 Player’s Championship and fifth overall. Top amateur and skill level players will join the world’s best professional players at one of the sport’s greatest events, complete with the best hospitality in the sport.

R48 #1 Carroll will have to contend with not only R48 Elite 8 stars Sean LenningDaniel CordovaLuis CordovaDavid FinkVic PerezMarcos Chavez, and Emmett Peixoto in his pursuit of his fourth consecutive Aces Burgundy Cigar jacket, but also 4-time World Champion and 15-time R48 champion Paul Brady. Brady will be making his return to the Player’s Championship for the first time in three years on the heels of a dominating R48 win in New York in April, ousting two top five R48 pros along the way.

In her quest for six consecutive WR48 Player’s Championships, WR48 #1 Casey will have to overcome current Women’s World Champion and chief rival Martina McMahon, WR48 #2 Ciana Ni Churraoin, WR48 #3 Tracy Davis, WR48 #6 Ashley Moler, as well as an influx of sensational women’s talent from the U.S. and Ireland to capture her seventh WR48 Player’s Championship.

SR48 #2 Marcos Chavez will aim to defeat SR48 #1 David Fink for the second consecutive year in the SR48 Player’s Championship final for his fifth SR48 Player’s Championship, while a strong group of SR contenders will be aiming to end the Chavez/Fink SR48 dominance.

WPH RACE 4 EIGHT: The World Players of Handball’s 2018/19 Race 4 Eight 8 Powered by ESPN features R48 stops in Georgia, Arizona, Oregon, Montana, Louisiana, and California, all culminating with The Player’s Championship in Utah in May of 2019. Similar to NASCAR’s Nextel Cup and the FedEx PGA Playoffs, players earn points in the Race 4 Eight’s regular season stops to qualify for the season-ending Player’s Championship and bonus prizes.
