Fountain Valley, CA, 8/10/25

Los Caballeros Sports Village hosted 2025 Baby Doll Doubles for the first time, featuring seven Race 4 Eight pros in the thirteen open doubles bracket and thirty-four teams in the three doubles brackets.

“The Baby Doll tournament is a tournament like no other,” stated Baby Doll tournament director Ralph Fregoso. “Since 2001, the Baby Doll Handball Tournament has stood as one of Southern California’s most unique and enduring handball events. Born at the beloved Tournament House in Riverside, this tournament blended fierce competition, camaraderie with a sense of community and plenty of fun. Today, it proudly holds the title of the last multi-day indoor handball tournament in Southern California—and it’s not slowing down. Bill Doles is the man behind the Baby Doll mission. Bill has been the primary sponsor of the Baby Doll Tournament for decades. Bill’s support has gone far beyond the financial. He’s mentored players, championed the sport, and helped keep the handball spirit alive for generations. Thanks to Bill Doles’ continued sponsorship, the tournament is set to thrive for years to come.”

Baby Doll Open Doubles

Jab Bike continued his breakout summer that saw win the Cincinnati 3-Wall Singles Invitational (HERE), the Jr Vasquez Doubles with Marcos Chavez (HERE), and recorded his best Icebreaker finish at the 2025 Lagrange Icebreaker (HERE). Bike teamed with “Giant Killer” and Race 4 Eight ironman Vic Perez to dominate the 2025 Baby Doll Doubles, his third pro title of the summer.

Team Berez swept Jab’s Minnesota State teammate Bryan Trejo and the Olympic Club’s Loren Collado in the upper bracket semifinal and played Team Dylan Hernandez/Ricardo Palma in the final, following Team Hernandez/Palma’s three-game, two-hour marathon semifinal win against Team Javier Badillo/Rene Lopez.

Team Berez were too strong for their Southern California rivals in the final, not allowing Team Hernandez/Palma to score double figures in either game in the final.

“The final was pretty much all us,” stated Jab. “Vic was so good the whole tournament. Steady, consistent shots for all 3 of our matches. It seemed like Ricardo and Dylan were still feeling it from their two-hour semifinal that ended right before our match. Vic was in control of pretty much all of the rallies throughout the tourney. And it’s always nice to play at Los Cab. Brings back memories from the Simple Green tourney.”

JR WPH Clinic at the 2025 Baby Doll

Race 4 Eight pros and community leaders Jab Bike and Vic Perez coached a JR WPH clinic for ten Southern California junior players, teaching various warm-up exercises, footwork, and back wall drills.

“The clinic was fun,” stated Race 4 Eight pro player rep and WPH JR WPH Coach Jab Bike. “We went over some warm-up drills, like throwing the ball with both hands and having your feet set up in the right position. Then we worked on some back wall progression drills. The kids had a singles and doubles tourney after the clinic. It looked like it was a really fun time.”

Thank you to Jab and the LAFD’s Vic Perez for volunteering their time and expertise to selflessly grow the game.

Thank you to tournament director Ralph Fregoso for an outstanding Baby Doll event and for growing the game in Southern California.
