The 2026/27 Race 4 Eight season will kick off the nine-event season at the 2026 Abierto Mexicana de Handball R48 Men’s LTE, September 11-13, 2026 at the 360 Fit Center in Juarez, Mexico. The 2026 Abierto Mexicana de Handball R48 Men’s LTE marks the 103rd event in the history of the Race 4 Eight tour, with the tour spanning seventeen states and two countries since the Race 4 Eight’s inaugural season in 2011/12.
The 2026 Abierto Mexicana de Handball R48 Men’s LTE will feature R48 #1 Martin Mulkerrins, who will be aiming to stay undefeated in “The North Pass.” Mulkerrins has spoiled the Juarez party several times, defeating Juarez legends Lucho Cordova and Leo Canales in his Juarez triumphs.
Joining Mulkerrins in the 2026 Abierto Mexicana de Handball R48 Men’s LTE draw will be R48 #4 seed Leo Canales, R48 #6 Mark Doyle, five-time Race 4 Eight champion and R48 #7 Danos Cordova, R48 #15 Jab Bike, R48 #19 Andres Cordova, R48 #20 Dylan Schmitt, R48 #22 Taylor Schmitt, R48 #26 Moses Gardea, multiple-time junior national champion Eli Gutierrez, and a number of the Southwest’s aspiring Race stars.

Juarez/El Paso, over time, has been characterized by having very good handball players with a very particular style of play,” stated 2026 Abierto Mexicana de Handball R48 Men’s LTE tournament director and Juarez handball patriarch Luis Cordova, Sr. “Among them we can count Johnny Benitez, Naty Alvarado, Elias Carrillo, Poncho Monreal, Salvador Santa Ana, Luis Clarke, Leo Canales Jr. and Cordova brothers Luis and Daniel, to name a few.”
