Tournament director Tom Martinez played host to the 2025 Jr. Vasquez CA State 3-Wall Doubles Championships at Smith Park in San Gabriel, CA, featuring eight teams in the open doubles. Race 4 Eight legend and Digiflex owner (HERE) Marcos Chavez teamed with Race 4 Eight top 12 pro and pro player representative Jab Bike to headline the JRV draw. Chavez and Bike were joined in the 2025 Jr. Vasquez field by Ryan Watkins and Andrew Garcia, Stephen Cooney and Rafa Martinez, Danielle Daskalakis and Jesse Aranda, Bryan Trejo and Alex Guadarrama, and several more top teams from Southern California.
Bike and Chavez were too strong for the teams at the 2025 Jr. Vasquez, surviving as close first game against Team Borjas/D. Chapa in the semifinals and steamrolling their way to the title from there.
Bike’s unmatched power combined with Chavez’s uncanny court sense and touch make them one of the most formidable outdoor doubles teams in the world.
“Marcos and Jab poured it on us pretty good,” stated Waddy Pup Watkins. “Marcos had played the best he’s played in quite a while. John had really good deep low serves that were reversed quite a bit. We had some good rallies but they were just too strong.”
“Marcos played really well today,” stated Bike. “We both got our serves going early and often and communicated well when on defense. Marcos is one of the best 3-Wall doubles players ever, and it was on display today for sure. I think we both did a good job at applying pressure today. It was a fun tournament definitely. Happy to win this one in SoCal.”
