Tucson, AZ, WPH Press, 7/10/18- The WPH is thrilled to present the sixth WR48 season during the 2018/19 Race 4 Eight, with three WR48 events scheduled to showcase the greatest women’s handball players on the planet. The world’s best women’s handball stars will compete at the ’18 Tucson Memorial, November 2-4, the ’19 Olympic Club Invitational in San Francisco, March 29-31, and the ’19 Aces R48 Players Championship in Salt Lake City, UT, May 17-19.

The WR48 tour boasts several of the world’s best women’s athletes, highlighted by WR48 #1 and 14-time WR48 champion Catriona Casey. Casey will be aiming to continue her unprecedented dominance of the WR48 tour, as the WR48 #1 has won 88% of the WR48 events held and 96% of her WR48 games played. Casey will face challenges in the upcoming season from WR48 stars Martina McMahon, Aimee Tuohey, Courtney Peixoto de Melo, Tracy Davis, Suz Koehler, Hilary Rushe, Dr. Ashley Moler, and many more.

“I am so proud to play on the WR48 tour and I can’t wait for the upcoming season to start,” stated WR48 #1 Catriona Casey. “The WR48 tour has allowed me to travel to so many great cities, make so many great friends, and compete in the sport I love. What could be better!”

“After a few years away from the game and the tour, I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to test myself against all of the best women in the sport last season,” stated WR48 #3 and mother of two Courtney Peixoto de Melo. “Playing on the WR48 tour is extremely exciting and I love seeing the top women in our sport featured on ESPN. I can’t wait until next season.”

The WR48 Power Rankings will be adjusted to reward the most in-form players, as the current season’s stops will weigh more heavily on the rankings. “Our committee decided to cut last season’s WR48 results in half, while awarding full points for this season’s stops so the ranking more accurately reflect the current season’s results,” stated WPH Executive Director Dave Vincent.
