DF’s Monday Morning Serve: Sept 1st

The World Players of Handball is in the midst of our busiest stretch in our 10-year history, as we will have covered, broadcast and hosted 4-Wall, 3-Wall and 1-Wall junior, adult and pro events nearly every week for more than two months starting in the middle of August. The 2015 WPH Outdoor tour wrapped up its regular season at Marina Park with more than 75 junior players under the age of 20 taking Junior WPH clinics and playing in the Back to School singles and doubles at Marina Park, Abe Montijo competed in two Tucson Showdown matches against Daniel Cordova at the Battle of the Border and Jonathan Iglesias at the Tuesday Night Showdown, while his students competed against Junior WPH Juarez and participated in Junior WPH clinics, Paul Brady and Aisling Reilly defended their 4-Wall World Singles Titles, Sean Lenning, Timbo Gonzalez and Danielle Daskalakis earned 1-Wall World Titles, Southern California’s Ezequiel Marin was awarded the WPH Courage Award for his inspiring battle against leukemia and junior leadership at WPH Outdoor events, Junior WPH’s Marco’s Kids headed to Fresno, the WPH 3WallBall Outdoor Championships and Pre-Race and Race 4 Eight V seasons are on the horizon and much more!

DV: David Vincent formed the World Players of Handball in 2005 and ushered live handball viewing into our living rooms for the first time. Since its inception, the World Players of Handball has broadcast over 1,500 matches live. Dave Vincent serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for virtually all matches, combining his unique perspective and personality with a lifetime of handball experience. DV brings 25 years of broadcast radio experience (in Oregon and California) to World Players of Handball & ESPN broadcasts and provides professionalism and wit to the amazing game of handball. DV also serves as the Executive Director of the World Player of Handball at the WPH headquarters in Tucson, AZ, working daily to grow the game of handball through innovation.
