1ff12150_oTucson, AZ – The World Players of Handball [WPH Live TV] celebrated its 10th anniversary this past month by broadcasting the USHA 4 Wall National Handball Championships in Fountain Valley, CA, a week after announcing their intent to film and broadcast the World Handball Championships from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, this August.  “Just as the candles were being blown out, the biggest announcement to date came across my desk,” says WPH Executive Director, Dave Vincent.  “ESPN & the WatchESPN App will be a part of our Race4Eight Professional 4 Wall Handball Tour in 2015-16, now entering our fifth season.”  The WPH and ESPN signed a seven stop deal in 2014, to include the Race4Eight Professional Handball Tour and Vegas 3WallBall Outdoor Worlds that aired on ESPN & the WatchESPN App to thousands of viewers.

“We honestly feel that the whole sport could get a positive shot in the arm with extended coverage from ESPN,” assures Vincent.  “We are very early-on in the stages of expanding this game, from our perspective, and having ESPN help us expose to the masses is truly a blessing that we are all grateful for.”

In 2015, the WPH and ESPN will air the 3 WallBall Outdoor World Championships in September, to include Handball, Racquetball and Paddleball coverage, from Las Vegas, Nevada, plus seven additional Race4eight 4 wall indoor handball stops beginning with the Simple Green US Open of Handball in October and the Tucson Memorial in November (both in 2015).  In 2016, the WPH & ESPN will team up and travel to New Orleans, Houston, New York, Salt Lake City and Portland, Oregon, from January to May, 2016, respectively.  The full schedule can be found at www.wphlive.tv or on the WPH video page at www.race4eight.com.

Launched in October 2010, WatchESPN delivers live access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, ESPN3, ESPNEWS, ESPN Deportes, ESPN Goal Line, ESPN Buzzer Beater, ESPN Bases Loaded, Longhorn Network, SEC Network and SEC Network + on computers, smartphones, tablets, Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick, Apple TV, Chromecast, Roku, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.  It is currently accessible in more than 93 million households nationwide to fans who receive ESPN’s networks as part of their video subscription.

Originally created to promote the sport of Handball through mass-media marketing, the WPH has expanded to administer the professional 4 wall indoor handball tour [Race4Eight] and outdoor professional 3 wall big ball tour [Cup Series], while overseeing the development of the sport with Junior WPH.  Now, as their Tenth Anniversary is upon us, the WPH has partnered with ESPN & the WatchESPN App in the attempt to further promote the sport of handball.
