Day 1: Friday, 3/4/22

The sixth event of the 2022/23 Race 4 Eight X season kicked off on Friday afternoon in beautiful Tucson, AZ, with the Race 4 Eight’s best vying for ranking points in the season’s final regular season event before April’s Aces Player’s Championship.

Round of 16: Tucson Dominates!

For the first time this season, four Tucson pros advanced to the quarterfinals in the same event, as third-seeded David Fink (Chapman), fifth-seeded Sam Esser (Ure), seventh-seeded Shorty Ruiz (Langmack), and eighth-seeded Abraham Montijo (Mehilos) were all dominant in two-game sweeps.

Top-seeded Killian Carroll extended his WPH winning streak to 36 matches against the ageless Leo Canales, Sr., second-seeded Lucho Cordova swept David Schiller, fourth-seeded Danos Cordova defeated Loren Collado, and sixth-seeded Leo Canales, Jr. defeated Dylan Hernandez in the evening’s most exciting match.
