San Francisco, CA, WPH Press, 8/16/26

San Francisco’s South End Rowing Club and tournament director Juan Carlos Ocampo were proud to present the 2026 Father/Son/Daughter Doubles on the South End’s historic courts on the third weekend of August.

32 players entered the two divisions at the Father/Son/Daughter event, with ten teams in lower bracket and six teams in the upper bracket.

Coleman and Tom McGrath dominated the upper bracket, defeating Carlos and Juan Carlos Ocampo in the final.

Final: Team McGrath def Team Ocampo 21-7, 21-15

“It’s always fun to have an opportunity to play in a tournament with the person who taught you how to play,” stated R48 #11 pro Coleman McGrath. “I grew up playing at the South End, which has some of the best handball hospitality at one of the best venues in the Bay Area. Seeing all the father-son and daughter teams every year is a reminder of the tight-knit family culture of handball. This tournament is special.”

Tournament participants were treated to great food and great prizes.
