World Players of Handball (WPH) Female Division Eligibility Policy

The World Players of Handball Foundation is committed to upholding competitive fairness, safety, and integrity across all sanctioned professional events, including 1-Wall, 3-Wall, and 4-Wall disciplines.

To ensure fair and equitable competition within designated women’s divisions, the WPH enforces specific biological eligibility criteria:

1. General Eligibility Criteria

Participation in the WPH Women’s Division is restricted to biological female athletes. Individuals assigned male at birth or possessing male biological characteristics are ineligible to compete in women’s events.

2. Verification and Compliance

The WPH reserves the authority to review player eligibility for any sanctioned division. Where a question of eligibility arises, the WPH may request formal documentation to confirm an athlete’s compliance with division requirements prior to or during event registration.

3. Medical Documentation Standards

In instances where biological eligibility requires verification, the athlete must provide certified laboratory documentation.

  • Required Documentation: A formal karyotype test (chromosomal analysis) confirming standard female genetic profile (46, XX).

  • Accreditation: Laboratory results must be conducted by a certified medical diagnostics facility and reviewed by a licensed physician.

  • Submission Timeline: All verification documentation must be submitted confidentially to the WPH Medical & Eligibility Review Committee prior to event check-in.

4. Confidentiality and Administrative Review

All athlete records, inquiries, and medical documentation submitted under this policy are maintained with strict medical confidentiality. Verification decisions made by the WPH governance committee are final.

The WPH remains dedicated to providing a transparent and equitable competitive platform for all professional athletes on the tour. For further inquiries or details regarding event registration and compliance, players and representatives can reach out through official WPH communication channels.
