Castlebar, County Mayo, IRE, WPH Press, 1/27/20- The GAA’s “She’s Ace” featured the largest women’s only 4-Wall handball tournament in the world, boasting more than 100 junior and adult women’s handballers in six divisions.
The Ladies Open final authored another chapter in the game’s best rivalry between the two best women’s players in the world, as current Women’s World Handball Champion Martina McMahon met WR48 #1 Catriona Casey in the She’s Ace final. McMahon fell to Casey in two games in their last encounter at the Breacach Open in December and returned the favor at She’s Ace, overcoming Casey by nearly identical scores in the two-game sweep. McMahon reduced the costly errors that plagued her in the Breacach loss and converted more of her offensive opportunities, allowing the powerful lefty to earn the first major women’s title of 2020.
Final: McMahon def Casey 15-9, 15-11
