The Oregon Handball Association is thrilled to announce the 2026 Oregon State Singles Championship, February 27-March 1 at Sunset Athletic Club in Beaverton, Oregon. Building on the previous success of the Oregon State Singles tournament, the OHA is excited to announce a four-way partnership between the Oregon Handball Association, the World Players of Handball, the Alten Handball Foundation, and the Hood River Handball Association.

“No one promotes handball better than the World Players of Handball, and we are excited to partner with the WPH again for another stellar handball tournament” stated tournament director Nick Flores. “Participants loved our previous tournaments at Sunset Athletic Club, and the club is excited for us to return, so everything worked out perfectly.”

Sunset Athletic Club boasts three beautiful show courts with bleachers for great spectating, in addition to six other handball courts in the facility. The concrete walls play fast and the floors are well maintained so the ball bounces true. The facility includes pristine locker rooms with towel service, hot tubs, and a heated therapy pool in the aquatic area.

The Alten Handball Foundation has generously offered to subsidize player entries, meaning deep discounts on entry fees. The first division fee will be $25, and the second division fee will be $10. But don’t think that means reduced hospitality! Hospitality chairman Ed Fredenburgh has terrific food and beverage planned, including Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and Sunday breakfast and lunch, as well as beer served all tournament long. As always, courtesy of the Alten Handball Foundation, juniors and students will receive free entry, and the youngsters will be treated to a Junior WPH clinic during the tournament.

The Oregon State Singles Championship is Oregon’s premier handball tournament, offering divisions for players of all ages and levels, including Open/A/B/C skill divisions, Women’s Red 21 and White 21 divisions, Masters Singles, Collegiate Singles, and Big Ball Singles. There will also be fun doubles for those players who do not want to play singles but would like to participate in the tournament. The Oregon Handball Association proudly invites players from out of state to participate in our tournaments as well.

The Open division is just that – wide open. Two-time state champion Kyle English will be seeking his third state championship, while nine-time state champion Dalton Beall has a chance to finally break the state record by winning his tenth state singles title. Other players to watch include previous state champions Matt Steele and Ryan Grossenbacher, previous regional champions Cody Townsend and Aaron Garner, former Utah state champion Andy Romanchock, standout Ohio-to-Oregon transplant Tyler Stevens, and Collegiate National Doubles champion Jorge Pimentel.

The entry deadline is Friday, February 20, 2026.
