WPH Superfan and Race 4 Eight Memorial hospitality director “Con Man” Jim Verhaeghe hosted the 2024 Con Man Survivor Pro/Am at the Tucson Racquet Club on July 4th week, commemorating one year since his open-heart surgery. “I had the surgery on July 11 last year and I just wanted to get everyone together to have a good time,” stated Con Man.
Race 4 Eight pros Shorty Ruiz, Ivan Burgos, Sam Esser, Mikaila Esser, Ashley Ruiz, Leo Canales and Max Langmack teamed up with top junior players and locals in “The Survivor.”
With pros serving underhand only, Team Langmack/Canales, Sr. advanced to the final to face Team Canales (Leo)/Carlos Espinoza. Langmack and Canales, Sr. took the first “Survivor” in a tiebreaker. “Leo Sr. played out of his mind,” stated Shorty.
