Tucson, AZ, WPH Press, 7/17/23

The fourth summer of the WPH Icebreaker kicks off with the Icebreaker from July 21-22 at Tucson’s Clark Park, featuring men’s pro small ball singles and doubles and women’s pro small ball singles in the twenty-second Icebreaker since the inaugural Icebreaker in the summer of 2020.

Players will beat the Tucson heat by playing under the lights on Friday night and Saturday night, providing the players with comfortable conditions for 3-Wall play.

Lucho Cordova was dominant in sweeping the four 2022 Icebreakers, winning all four events without dropping a game in his sixteen 2022 Icebreaker matches. Lucho will be aiming for his fifth Icebreaker title and fifth in a row, but will have to deal with his brother Danos, the Tucson pros and several other top pros. Mikaila Esser will aim to continue her Icebreaker winning streak in the women’s singles.
