2022 GAA Mick Kerr Memorial: Mulkerrins Nabs the First GAA Title of 2022

WPH Press, Breacach HC (IRE), 1/9/22

Breacach HC hosted the first Mick Kerr Memorial, the first GAA National ranking event of 2022. The 2022 Mick featured many of the GAA’s top stars, including All Ireland champions and the Mick’s top two seeds Martin Mulkerrins and Charly Shanks.

Martin Mulkerrins put his three-game semifinal loss at last month’s 2021 USHA Four Wall Nationals behind him by defeating Ryan Mullan, Peter Funchion, Colin Crehan, and Charly Shanks to win the inaugural Mick Kerr Memorial. Mulkerrins also captured the delayed 2020 40×20 All Ireland title earlier this month.  “I think I played well throughout the tournament,” stated Irish superstar Martin Mulkerrins. “The final was a very tough match which could have gone either way. Fortunately in the tiebreaker, I got a good run to give me a 9-3 lead, which was a big help.  All players were delighted to be back in action and the tournament was hosted in a top class facility and the hospitality was amazing too.”
