The ten-event 2022/23 marathon season concluded on the first weekend of May at the 2023 Aces Player’s Championship in Salt Lake City, UT. The Aces Player’s Championship awarded double points to the Race 4 Eight pros, making it twice as valuable as a full Race 4 Eight stop and four times more valuable than an LTE.

Despite losing in the semifinals of the Aces Player’s Championship, Lucho’s five titles during the season and seven finals appearances were enough to clinch his first Player’s Cup for year-end #1. Lucho joined an elite list of only five players to win the Player’s Cup (Moreno, Shanks, Brady, Carroll, Lucho).

Despite playing in only four of the ten events during the season, Killian Carroll’s win at the Aces Player’s Championship catapulted “Flash” from #6 to #4 on the season-ending rankings, while first-time Race 4 Eight finalist Leo Canales seized his career high Race 4 Eight ranking of #3 with his Saturday Cordova slam in Salt Lake City.

David Fink dropped out of the top four the first time in three years with his first round loss in Salt Lake City to finish fifth, while Danos Cordova, Shorty Ruiz, and a surging Sean Lenning rounded out the R48 Men’s Pro top eight.

Catriona Casey’s twenty-fifth WR48 title at the 2023 Aces Player’s Championship capped an undefeated three-event season that saw her win her eighth Player’s Cup and eighth Player’s Championship, making her the only player in WR48 history to win the WR48 Player’s Championship or the WR48 Player’s Cup.

Fiona Tully’s three WR48 finals appearances cemented her as the WR48 #2, while Eilise McCrory finished her first season on the WR48 at #3, earning her WR48 Rookie of the Year honors. Tucson’s Ashley Ruiz rounded out the WR48 top four.

David Fink swept the SR48 season, winning all three events in Tucson, Pittsburgh, and Salt Lake City to clinch the season-ending #1 SR48 ranking and his fourth consecutive SR48 Player’s Cup, while Bill Mehilos finished the season as the SR48 #2 with two finals appearances and a third place finish at the Aces Player’s Championship. Kyle English and Paul Brady round out the SR48 top four.
