On this WPH Wednesday Workout, we’ll showcase former WTA #1 Simona Halep’s training regime.

Simona Halep is widely regarded as one of the fittest women’s players on the WTA, winning 22 singles titles and two Grand Slams (Wimbledon and the French Open). At 5’6”, the pride of Romania is one of the shorter players on the WTA Tour, meaning she needs to use her legs, conditioning, and quickness to overcome her lack of height, power, and reach. How does she do it? Training and more training.

Halep Training Routine

  • Box Jumps (2 feet)
  • Medicine Ball Spikes into a jump and sprint on the beach
  • Front-facing diagonal double jumps over agility hurdles into a sprint on the beach
