WPH Handball Destination Series Showcases Seattle’s WAC

WPH Showcase, Seattle, WA

The WPH is excited to introduce the WPH Handball Destination Series to showcase handball’s greatest venues. On this edition of the WPH Handball Destination Series, we will feature the 2012 and 2013 home of the WPH Race 4 Eight Player’s Championship and the annual home of the WAC Classic, the Washington Athletic Club.

The WAC

Number of courts: 5

Number of handball players: 40+

Popular handball hours: all times of the day – early morning, noon, mid-afternoon, evening

Address: 1325 6th Ave., Seattle, WA 98101

“We have our annual WAC Classic tournament every January,” stated WAC handball member and ambassador Randy Multack.  “We occasionally host another tournament or handball exhibition. It’s the best place to play in Seattle.  We have the best courts in the state and, with the exception of perhaps the Multnomah Club in Portland, maybe on the west coast.

“Coming to the WAC is more than just playing handball,” continued Multack. “It’s a full-service club and hotel.  We have beer available for purchase right there in the men’s locker room on the 6th floor.  We have Hagerty’s Sports Bar and Torchy’s Fine Dining down on the 2nd floor.  And we’re located in the heart of downtown Seattle with easy access to all the sights and must-sees – Pike Place Market, the waterfront, the Space Needle, Puget Sound water activities – boat rides, etc.”

Thank you to WPH donor and ambassador/WAC member Randy Multack for info on the Washington Athletic Club.
