Fans will be treated to the best Men’s, Women’s, and Senior professional handball stars in the world battling for the coveted Race 4 Eight Player’s Championship crystal, with the action broadcast live on Watch ESPN!

The 2022 Race 4 Eight Player’s Championship will mark the 70th event in the history of the Race 4 Eight tour, with the tour spanning 17 states in the first ten seasons. Ace Recycling and Disposal has graciously hosted the Race 4 Eight tour nine times since 2012, always welcoming the greatest stars and fans in the sport to Salt Lake City with the best hospitality in the sport. Four-time defending R48 Men’s Pro Player’s Champion Killian Carroll will be seeking an unprecedented R48 Player’s Championship five-peat in Salt Lake City, WR48 #1 Catriona Casey will be seeking her seventh consecutive WR48 Player’s Championship, and David Fink will be seeking his second consecutive SR48 Player’s Championship. Top amateur and skill level players will join the world’s best professional players at one of the sport’s greatest events. 

“We point towards the Aces Player’s Championship all season,” stated WPH Executive Director David Vincent. “No detail is too small in preparing for this mega event, as the Aces Team, the WPH staff, the tremendous staff of Aces volunteers and our players work tirelessly to ensure this event is a massive success.”

WPH RACE 4 EIGHT: The World Players of Handball’s 2021/22 Race 4 Eight X Powered by ESPN reintroduced the world to 4-Wall pro handball following a 20-month hiatus due to the pandemic. Through the first nine Race 4 Eight seasons the Race 4 Eight hosted 63 events, featuring the world’s best players from the U.S., Mexico, Canada, and Ireland.

Similar to Nascar’s Nextel Cup and the FedEx PGA Playoffs, players earn points in the Race 4 Eight’s regular season stops to qualify for the season-ending Player’s Championship and bonus prizes.
