Women’s Icebreaker Semis Daskalakis vs Mitchell

WPH Icebreakers #7: 3-Wall Small Ball Women’s Pro Singles

The WPH is proud to present the WPH Icebreaker #7, the seventh official WPH 3-Wall Singles Icebreakers since September of 2020.

“We want to show people that we can safely hold events with all of the COVID protocols in place,” stated WPH Executive Director David Vincent. “We allow a limited number of socially distant fans, while ensuring the players are distanced as much as possible. The Icebreaker is our way of “breaking the ice” during the pandemic and reintroducing pro handball to the world.”

The WPH Icebreaker #7 featured women’s stars Danielle Daskalakis, Tracy Davis, Ashley Moler, and Mikaila Mitchell competing at Tucson’s Clark Park in Tucson.

Women’s Semifinal #1: Danielle Daskalakis vs. Mikaila Mitchell

Double D entered her first Icebreaker as the defending 3-Wall national champion, while Mikaila Mitchell was playing in her second Icebreaker in four weeks. Mitchell had not yet qualified on the WR48, nor competed in many national events, but demonstrated she could compete at the top of the sport in the second game of her first Icebreaker appearance. Would that be enough to challenge Daskalakis?
