Vazquez Takes the FIT

Cortland, OH, WPH Press, 8/2/21

The last weekend of July featured the 3-Wall Fusselman Invitational Tournament (FIT) at the Fusselman Handball Compound in Cortland, OH. The FHC features a 4-Wall court in the living room and a 3-Wall court in the backyard, with both courts in immaculate condition.

WPH mega donor and Pittsburgh WPH Ladder star Kirk Rys organized this year’s FIT, with five of the area’s top stars in action.

Cleveland’s Carlos Vazquez toppled the 3-Wall small ball field in the round robin singles format, overcoming Joe Frankenfield, John Thiel, Kirk Rys, and Pete Giavara. “Carlos vanquished everyone,” stated Kirk Rys, one of the vanquished. “There were a number of small tournaments held at Fuss’s years ago. I threw this one together just to get some locals playing against one another.”

Thank you to the Fusselmans for hosting the event and to Kirk Rys for organizing and reporting on the FIT.
