Updated Rankings Pre-Salt Lake City: SR40+, Elite Women & Pro Men

The tightest Race4Eight Rankings the tour has ever seen, as we head into the final stop of the season, are now available and there’s a mix-up at the top!

Martin Mulkerrins returns to the #1 position -and- jumps the Cordova Brothers in the process; meanwhile, Lucho (Luis Cordova) drops out of the top spot for the first time since March of 2023.

Remember, Salt Lake City brings “double Points” for not only the pro men, but the women and senior 40+ divisions.

So, what does that mean for the top 8 players entering Salt Lake City?  Who has a chance to end the season as the Player’s Cup Champ?

If Martin Mulkerrins wins SLC, he will finish #1… if Daniel Cordova wins SLC, he will finish #1… if Lucho Cordova wins SLC, he will finish #1. That’s how close the top three are. However, David Fink and Leo Canales also have an outside shot at #1, here are the scenarios:

Martin can finish the season at #1 with a 1st place finish.

Martin can finish the season at #1 with a 2nd place finish combined with Lucho and Daniel not making the finals.

Martin can finish the season at #1 with a 3rd/4th place finish combined with Lucho and Daniel not making the finals.

Daniel can finish the season at #1 with a 1st place finish.

Daniel can finish the season at #1 with a 2nd place finish combined with Martin and Lucho not making the finals.

Daniel can finish the season at #1 with a 3rd/4th place finish combined with Martin not making the semifinals and Lucho not making the finals.

Lucho can finish the season at #1 with a 1st place finish.

Lucho can finish the season at #1 with a 2nd place finish combined with Martin and Daniel not making the finals.

Lucho can finish the season at #1 with a 3rd/4th place finish combined with Martin and Daniel not making the semifinals.

Fink can finish the season at #1 with a 1st place finish combined with Martin losing in the round of 16, Daniel finishing no better than 6th, and Lucho finishing no better than 5th.

Canales can finish the season at #1 with a 1st place finish combined with Martin and Daniel losing in the round of 16 and Lucho finishing no better than 6th.

As for the professional women, Mikaila Esser, Eilise McCrory, and/or Clodagh Munroe could win the Player’s Cup by taking 1st place combined with a Catriona Casey forfeit or no-show.

Very similar to the women’s scenario above regarding the Men’s 40+ Seniors…  David Fink would have to no-show or forfeit in order for Kyle English, Bill Mehilos or Dave Munson to have an outside chance at the Player’s Cup and since Salt Lake City brings a whopping “double points” expect shake-ups if all participate!
