Tucson’s Alex Trujillo Honored

Tucson, AZ, WPH Press, 2/28/18 The World Players of Handball was honored to award Tucson’s Alex Trujillo with the 2018 WPH Humanitarian Award for his incredible passion and selflessness for the handball family and his willingness to assist handball players in every type of difficulty, distress, and emergency.

Alex’s bravery and emergency expertise saved Tucson handball legend Dr. Cam Nasser after Dr. Nasser suffered a stroke while taking a timeout during his weekday morning singles match just over a month ago.

Alex Trujillo is a hero for his brave actions in saving Dr. Nasser, as well as being one of Tucson’s greatest supporters in the world’s best handball community.

“I could not have been more proud to present Alex with the 2018 WPH Humanitarian Award on behalf of the WPH,” stated WPH Development Director David Fink. “Alex is the type of guy who makes handball so special and unique, and Alex’s heroism and support of the Tucson handball community is incredibly touching and inspiring. Every handball player in the Tucson Racquet Club stopped their league matches to congratulate Alex and that tells you just how much Alex means to this community. Congratulations Alex!”
