20-time Race 4 Eight champion Killian Carroll made his return to the 4-Wall courts after a six-month injury-induced hiatus. “Flash” was joined in the St. Louis draw by three-time Race 4 Eight champion Martin Mulkerrins, R48 #2 Lucho Cordova, and R48 #6 Sam Esser in the star-studded open singles bracket.

Local favorite Jeff Streibig stunned Sam Esser in two games in the quarterfinals to face Mulkerrins in the upper bracket semifinals. Mulkerrins swept the local hero in the semifinals to advance to Saturday evening’s final, while Killian Carroll won two close games against R48 #2 Lucho Cordova in the bottom bracket semifinal.

Mulkerrins defeated Carroll for the second consecutive time (2022 R48 Player’s Championship), winning a close first game and taking control in game two. “Killian was not really himself this weekend,” stated Cordova. “It seems like his right is still bothering him because he is not really making full swings. He is still getting to everything and kills a lot of shots.”
