The Texas A&M University Handball Club is thrilled to present the Jack Gressett R48 Pre Qualifier in College Station, TX at the Student Rec Center, located at 187 Corrington Drive, College, Station, TX 77843 on October 13-15. The tournament will likely start and end on Saturday, October 14, depending on entries.

“We are very excited to host the Jack Gressett R48 Pre Qualifier at the Student Rec Center at Texas A&M showcasing many of the game’s top stars and highlighting our growing collegiate handball program at Texas A&M,” stated tournament director and current R48 #2 Martin Mulkerrins.

Divisions: Men’s Pro, Men’s A Singles, Men’s B/C Singles, Men’s Novice Singles, Men’s Singles Master (40+), Super Masters Singles (60+), Men’s Open/A Doubles, Men’s B/C Doubles, , Men’s Doubles 100+ combined,  Women’s Open/A Singles, Women’s B/C Singles, Women’s Novice Singles, Men’s/Women’s Novice Doubles

Players may enter a maximum of two events. All players will be guaranteed two matches in singles events.  The entry fee will also include a souvenir T-shirt and lunch on Saturday

The tournament directors reserve the right to combine events as needed.
Players may enter a maximum of two events.

ENTRY FEE:

Standard: $60 for 1st event and $10 for 2nd event

Students: $30 dollars for 1st event and $10 dollars for the second event (use coupon code “StudentTAMU”)

Entry deadline is Tuesday October 10th at 5pm

Please notify of cancellation by noon on Tuesday, October 10th to be eligible for a refund.

Starting times will be emailed by noon at the latest on Thursday, October 12th.

The Texas A&M R48 Pre Qualifier is open to all players, including the R48 Elite 8.

Since 2017, R48 Pre Qualifiers have been held in Pittsburgh, Tucson, Austin, L.A., San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Portland, creating tremendous excitement for players and fans. The WPH is proud to provide extensive promotion, real-time and post coverage of all R48 Pre Qualifiers. 

Make your way to College Station on the second weekend of October to play against a number of the game’s best players. The winner of the Jack Gressett R48 Pre Qualifier in College Station will receive a $300 travel stipend from the WPH upon completion of his first match at his first Race 4 Eight start of the 2023/24 Race 4 Eight season. The travel stipend is non-transferrable.

DV brings 25 years of broadcast radio experience (in Oregon and California) to World Players of Handball & ESPN broadcasts and provides professionalism and wit to the amazing game of handball. DV also serves as the Executive Director of the World Player of Handball at the WPH headquarters in Tucson, AZ, working daily to grow the game of handball through innovation.
