The KWM Gutterman 2024 3WallBall World Championships Presented by Age Solutions and ProKennex at the STRAT Hotel & Casino wrapped on the final weekend of September, with more than 350 combined handball, racquetball, and paddleball players competing on the Las Vegas Strip.
3-Wall Singles Final: Samzon vs. Chopper
Samzon Hernandez regained his 3WB championship, playing in the peak form that has seen “Totoy” win north of 400 open titles in his career. Playing in 100+ degrees on the Las Vegas Strip, Samzon took leads in both games, pushing Anthony “Chopper” Hernandez back with deep serves. Samzon’s front court coverage was the difference, as he used his left-handed passes and stiff-arm kills to keep Chopper off-balance. Chopper enjoyed some success with his lob, but Samzon was able to neutralize Chopper’s lobs and tap kills to take the title in two games.
“I’ve been staying focused,” stated Samzon, who also won the pro big ball doubles at the Tucson Memorial last weekend. “I tried for the slam and almost had it.”
Final: Samzon def Chopper 15-11, 15-8
