Albany, NY, WPH Press, 11/19/23
Albany’s Colonie Court Club hosted the 2023 Albany Open, historically one of the Northeast’s premiere 4-Wall events.
22-time Race 4 Eight champion and current WPH Aces Player’s Champion Killian Carroll headlined the 2023 Albany Open field that also included all-code superstar and 1-Wall’s most winning champion Tyree Bastidas, New York’s Victor Lopierre and Arthur Sayed, as well as Canada’s Jerome Santerre.
Killian Carroll won the title in a flash, routing top New York stars Arthur Sayed and Tyree Bastidas in the semifinals and final, respectively. Carroll’s pace and speed was too much for New York’s top 4-Wallers, as they are for every player on the planet.
“Great event in Albany,” exclaimed WPH correspondent and USHA board member Jared Vale. “Killian was amazing, as usual. He looks healthy. Tyree has a hard time adjusting to the speed of the courts, as well as Killian’s speed and pace. The courts we practice on are very slow. Tyree could compete with the elite 4-Wallers given the motivation and dedication. Killian will be back on (the Race 4 Eight) tour in 2024.”
Semifinals
Carroll def Sayed 21-5, 21-2
T. Bastidas def J. Santerre 21-5, 21-7
