The 2017 Pittsburgh R48 Pre Qualifier on October 21, 2017

Pittsburgh, PA, WPH Press, 8/22/17- The World Players of Handball and the Amerifit Handball Community are proud to present the Pittsburgh R48 Pre Qualifier at the home of the RFC, Amerifit Handball Club, located at 100 Roessler Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15220 on Saturday, October 21, 2017.

The winner of the Pittsburgh R48 Pre Qualifier will earn a travel stipend to the Race 4 Eight of his choice during the 2017-2018 R48 VII season, with the winner choosing from Race 4 Eight stops in Tucson, Montana, Las Vegas, Houston, New York City, and Salt Lake City.

“With the RFC, the RFC Cup team competition, the WPH Pittsburgh Ladder, JR WPH Pittsburgh clinics, and now the Pittsburgh R48 Pittsburgh Qualifier, Pittsburgh is quickly becoming the national hotbed for handball events and initiatives,” stated RFC namesake Rodney Fink. “We’re excited for our local guys to earn a chance to travel to a Race 4 Eight event this season, while also thrilled to welcome players from Team Canada, Team Cleveland, Team New York and beyond to compete in this exciting one-day R48 Pre Qualifier event.”

“Every time we host a handball event at the club there is a lot of buzz,” stated Amerifit manager and Pittsburgh’s #2 Ladder player Mike Semplice. “Coming off the heels of our biggest RFC in July, the Pittsburgh R48 Pre Qualifier is going to be a big event. All of the local players will want to win this one and earn a trip to a Race stop this season.”

In the last decade, Amerifit Handball Club has played host to a number of WPH #1 ranked men’s and women’s stars, to include Luis Moreno, Catriona Casey, Megan Dorneker, David Fink, Charly Shanks, Emmett Peixoto, Allan Garner and more. Amerfit, the WPH, and the Pittsburgh handball community are excited to host another sensational event in one of the premiere handball communities in the country. Don’t miss it!

Scoring format: One game to 25, win by two (all matches)
