The Alten Handball Foundation proudly sponsored the Oregon State Doubles Handball Championships, Powered by WPH, on the last weekend in March at Eugene’s Downtown Athletic Club.
The 2026 Oregon State Doubles offered Men’s Open and A/B/C skill levels, as well as Women’s and Masters divisions.
Men’s Open Doubles
Team Townsend/Beall clinched the 2026 Oregon State Doubles Handball Championships, Powered by WPH, ending Pimentel’s Pacific Northwest winning streak (2026 WAC Classic R48 Pre Qualifier, 2026 OR State Singles) in a two-game sweep. After taking the first game, Team Townsend/Beall rallied from a 16-19 second-game deficit, scoring the final five points of the match to take the championship.

JR WPH Clinic at the 2026 OR State Doubles
JR WPH Coach Nick Flores, USHA coach Bob Herrera, and one of the Pacific Northwest’s best players, Cody Townsend teamed up to coach a JR WPH Clinic at the 2026 OR State Doubles, providing the youngsters with the opportunity to learn handball skills and strategies from two of the Pacific Northwest’s top handball minds.
Coach Nick, Coach Bob and Coach Cody introduced the dynamic handball warm-up, followed by throwing and catching drills to hone the proper mechanics. The junior players then hit overhand, sidearm, and underhand shots.
Following the instructional, the juniors then played various rallying games, to include “play the pro” points against Coach Nick, Coach Bob, and Coach Cody.
Thank you to Nick, Bob, and Cody for hosting the clinic and selflessly giving back to the game.
Thank you to the Alten Handball Foundation for subsidizing entry fees for all players competing in the 2026 OR State Doubles, including free entries for all players under the age of 21. Players and fans enjoyed full hospitality, including Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, and, dinner, and Sunday breakfast, with beer served daily.
