Team Chizano Take Mexican Independence 3-Wall BB Dubs

WPH Press, Las Cruces, NM, 9/16/23

Tournament director Omar Alberto presented the Mexican Independence 3-Wall Big Ball Doubles at Lions Park in Las Cruces, NM, featuring fifty players, including 2023 WPH Ice Bowl singles champion Anthony “Chopper” Hernandez, 2023 WPH Ice Bowl singles finalist Alberto Pizano, Noe Arenas and more of the game’s best big ball players.

After winning the WPH Icebreaker Ice Bowl in August (HERE), Chopper and Pizano #Chizano continued their winning ways in Las Cruces, advancing to the final in the double knockout bracket and defeating Noe Arenas and Adrian Escobar for the second time to win the Mexican Independence 3-Wall Big Ball Doubles.

“It was too easy for us,” Pizano would later say. “My partner just needed to warm up (in the final).”

“We played well,” stated Chopper. “Alberto and I have good chemistry together, we don’t nag when either of us make errors.”

Final: Team Chizano def Team Arenas/Escobar 10-12, 12-8, 12-8
