Team Chapman/Repine Dominate the Centennial State

Sixty-two players from Colorado, New Mexico, Idaho, Wyoming, Missouri, and North Dakota traveled to the Denver Athletic Club to compete in the 2025 Colorado State Doubles/HOF Tournament on the second weekend in May. The Men’s Open Doubles field was highlighted by Colorado Race 4 Eight pros John Chapman and Jon and Eli Gutierrez.

Open Doubles

John Chapman and George Repine dominated the CO State Doubles, gelling to outscore their two opponents by a combined 60-27. Team Chapman/Repine swept Team Ibarra/Wetzel in the final after Team Ibarra/Wetzel upset the Gutierrez brothers in the semifinals.

“It (the final) was pretty quick, I was playing well,” Chapman told the WPH after the final. “(We were) Down 4-1 in the first and won 15-4. And then kept up the momentum in the second. (I’ve) Been playing a lot more aggressive since Tucson and enjoying that style. George played solid as well, had good ace serves and was consistent all day.”
