Team Bike/Perez Bark at the 2025 Dog Bowl Doubles

Bakersfield, CA, WPH Press, 9/6/25

Tournament director George Garcia and the Elks Lodge #266 proudly presented the 12th annual 9/11 Dog Bowl Doubles in Bakersfield, CA, featuring current, former, and aspiring Race 4 Eight pros Jab Bike, Vic Perez, Stephen Cooney, Loren Collado, Marcos Chavez, George Garcia, Ryan Watkins, and Dylan Hernandez.

Open Doubles

Jab Bike was seeking his fifth consecutive open doubles title this summer, having won the Baby Doll doubles, the Jr. Vasquez doubles, the LaGrange doubles, and the 3-Wall Nationals doubles.

Bike’s streak was in jeopardy at the Dog, as the Race 4 Eight Player’s Rep teamed with his Baby Doll partner Vic Perez and survived a tiebreaker in the semifinals against Team Waddy Pup Watkins and the “Coon Dogg” Stephen Cooney.

Team Bike/Perez truly found themselves on the brink in the Dog final, down match point in game two against Marcos Chavez and Dylan Hernandez. Both Chavez and Hernandez served with a 20-18 lead, but Team Bike/Perez remained calm, thwarting both match point attempts and quickly scoring the final three points of the second game to force a tiebreaker. Team Bike/Perez seized the momentum following their second game escape, holding Team Chavez/Hernandez scoreless in the tiebreaker. Team Bike/Perez ended the Dog on a fourteen-point streak, hoisting the Dog Bowls in the Lodge.

Semifinals

Team Bike/Perez def Team Cooney/Watkins 21-20, 8-21, 11-7

Team Chavez/Hernandez def Team Garcia/Collado 21-15, 21-14

Final: Team Bike/Perez def Team Chavez/Hernandez 8-21, 21-20, 11-0

Thank you to tournament director George Garcia for an outstanding Dog Bowl.
