Siordia Takes the RSPCTD FOREVER at El Camino Park
WPH Press, Orange, CA, 9/11/23
Eduardo Barragan hosted the RSPCTD FOREVER 3-Wall Big Ball Open Singles tournament at El Camino Park in Orange, CA, featuring many of Southern California’s top outdoor Big Ball stars.
2022 WPH Clarktember (HERE) and 2023 WallBall Worldwide Golden Ticket (HERE) champion Oscar Siordia entered the strong RSPCTD FOREVER field as the heavy favorite and advanced to the final with a three-game win against Danny Vasquez in the upper bracket semifinals. Siordia dropped the first game and rallied to outscore Vasquez by a combined 24-3 to advance to the final.
Siordia met Jason “Peanut” Villegas in the final. Just as he had done in the semis, Siordia dropped game one of the final but took control from there. “I played pretty solid in the final,” Siordia would later say. “I let the first game slip away after holding game point at 11-8. I made a mistake and Peanut came in with three solid serves and pulled out the win, but I got my head together and dominated the next two games.”
Final: Siordia def Villegas 11-12, 12-7, 12-3
