Salt Lake City is Awarded at the R48 4 Player’s Championship

Salt Lake City, WPH Press, 4/20/15- The World Players of Handball was honored to present Lon, Matt and Melissa Stalsberg, Ruben Garza and the rest of the outstanding Salt Lake City handball community with the WPH Race 4 Eight Appreciation Award for their outstanding contributions to the WPH and Race 4 Eight tour. 2015’s WPH R48 Player’s Championship marked the second consecutive Player’s Championship in Salt Lake City and the fourth consecutive year of Salt Lake City hosting a Race 4 Eight stop. “Salt Lake City welcomed us with open arms in 2008 and their incredible hospitality and passion for the game has continued every year since,” stated WPH Development Director David Fink. “Salt Lake City has been voted the player’s favorite stop for four consecutive years, a testament to the hard work and tireless efforts made by the Salt Lake City handball community.”

Salt Lake City remains a fixture on the WPH R48 tour and the WPH and our players and fans look forward to coming back in 2016 and beyond.

Since its inception, the World Players of Handball has broadcast over 1,500 matches live. Dave Vincent serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for virtually all matches, combining his unique perspective and personality with a lifetime of handball experience. DV brings 25 years of broadcast radio experience (in Oregon and California) to World Players of Handball & ESPN broadcasts and provides professionalism and wit to the amazing game of handball. DV also serves as the Executive Director of the World Player of Handball at the WPH headquarters in Tucson, AZ, working daily to grow the game of handball through innovation.
