RFC Returns to PGH: Deadline approaches

Pittsburgh, PA, WPH Press, 5/26/15- The World Players of Handball is thrilled to present the WPH’s Rodney Fink Classic 7 at Amerifit Handball Club, July 11-12, 2015, 100 Roessler Road, Pittsburgh, PA 15220.

The RFC 7 will feature 4-Wall and 1-Wall small ball, with the RFC champion demonstrating the ultimate cross over skills. The RFC boasts one of the strongest champion’s lists of any event in the world, as every RFC champion has been ranked inside the WPH top 10. Chapman won the inaugural RFC in 2009, followed by Moreno, Fink, Shanks and Cooney. Several of the WPH Race 4 Eight’s top stars will be in attendance at the RFC 7, including WPH R48 #6 David Fink and WPH #9 Stephen Cooney.

“I am really excited to be hosting the RFC for the seventh time,” revealed RFC tournament director David Fink. “Tournament hosts Mike Semplice and Rodney Fink ensure that every player is treated to an outstanding weekend of handball, hospitality, camaraderie and Pittsburgh culture. The RFC is a must-attend event.”

Along with 4-Wall and 1-Wall small ball singles, the RFC features 4-Wall Open Doubles with a twist: the tournament director selects the teams to ensure competitiveness throughout the draw with mandatory alternate serves. All tournament players will head to PNC Park, MLB’s best stadium, on Saturday night to watch the Pittsburgh Pirates battle the St. Louis Cardinals.

All proceeds from the WPH’s RFC 7 go towards Junior WPH and growing the game of handball. Through generous donations, Junior WPH has hosted over 2,000 junior handball clinics since 2013, along with numerous junior handball tournaments and after school and weekend handball programs.
