Race 4 Eight Leadership and Bravery Award

The WPH Race 4 Eight Awards

Los Angeles, CA, WPH Press, 3/26/25

The WPH proudly honored Race 4 Eight pro, LAAC tournament director, and the Los Angeles Fire Department’s Vic Perez for his passion for growing the game and his courageous contributions to his community.

Vic hosts numerous tournaments at the Los Angeles Athletic Club, including the incredibly successful 2025 LAAC Race 4 Eight. Vic’s passion for growing the game at the LAAC and throughout Southern California has seen a dramatic rise in tournament participation and inspired many of his peers to become part of the movement to grow the game.

Vic’s bravery and training were on display at the 2025 ‘Red’ in Montana, when Vic quickly provided life support for an elderly spectator who fell unconscious in the gallery.  Vic’s quick-action not only saved the life of this handball fan, but was handled in the upmost of professionalism and calmness.

When not organizing tournaments, coaching junior clinics, and competing against the world’s best, Vic works for the Los Angeles Fire Department, fighting fires and helping people in their most vulnerable circumstances. Vic has worked 90 hours shifts, as he did during the recent L.A. Fires.

The World Players of Handball is very fortunate to have Vic as a part of the Race 4 Eight tour and our team.
