The Race 4 Eight pros voted the 2024 Race 4 Eight Juarez the 2024 Race 4 Eight event of the year, a testament to tournament director Luis Cordova Sr. and the Juarez handball community. Tournament director Luis Cordova Sr. proudly accepted the award from the WPH at the 2025 Juarez Race 4 Eight, the culmination of a dream to bring pro handball to Juarez.
Luis Sr. not only brought pro handball to Juarez, he built and ran the “Player’s” 2024 Race 4 Eight tournament of the year. “My dad is pretty much the main guy (putting on the event),” stated R48 #2 Lucho Cordova. “He has a lot of help from locals but it was his idea. He put the idea forward, he’s always wanted to have one in Juarez and with the help of the locals and with Daniel and I to recruit players, I think he was able to have an awesome tournament that many look forward to each year. Every year they get more sponsors and more interest from the locals and even from the city.”
The top eight finishers 2025 Juarez Race 4 Eight were honored at Juarez’s Lienzo Charro, the famous Juarez Charrería, rodeo events, traditional skirmishes, and more, all in a family-friendly atmosphere rich in tradition. After watching an exciting charreada and in the company of the charro skirmishes, Martin Mulkerrins, Lucho Cordova, Ivan Burgos, Diarmaid Nash, Sam Esser, Danos Cordova, Vic Perez, and Sean Lenning were awarded their 2025 Juarez Race 4 Eight prize money checks, in addition to a traditional poncho.
“I think it’s impossible that Juárez doesn’t win stop of the year this year too,” Mark Doyle after attending the Lienzo Charro and experiencing the Juarez Race 4 Eight for the second consecutive year.
Congratulations to Luis Cordova Sr. for organizing the 2024 “Player’s” Race event of the year.
