Quarterfinals: Canales, Jr. vs. Esser

Leo Canales, Jr. entered his quarterfinal against Sam Esser having never lost to the “Kansas Kid,” including a thrilling collegiate national final. Canales would be seeking his second R48 semifinal, while Esser would be aiming to build on his best R48 finish at the 2021 Tucson Memorial. These young guns are the future of the sport and did not disappoint in this matchup.
