John Hannon RIP

It is with sadness we report the passing of John P. HANNON, The Courtyard, Ballymote, Sligo, brother to former GAA Handball Uachtaran Tony Hannon, and Uncle to current Connacht Vice Chairman David Hannon. 

Our condolences to John’s family and friends. Ar dheis Dé a raibh a anam dílís.

The death has occurred of John P. Hannon (former Christian Brother), The Courtyard, Ballymote, Co. Sligo, following an accident on July 14th.

Beloved brother of Peggy, Michael, Tony and the late Jim. Sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours & friends.

  • Reposing at Perry’s Funeral Home, Ballymote on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm. 
  • Arriving at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Ballymote for Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 12pm. 
  • Burial afterwards in St. Columba’s Cemetary, Ballymote.
  • Family flowers only please. Donations, in lieu if desired, to Sligo Cancer Support Centre, care of any family member.

DV also serves as the Executive Director of the World Player of Handball at the WPH headquarters in Tucson, AZ, working daily to grow the game of handball through innovation.
