WPH Tucson 4-Man Icebreaker at Clark Park

The WPH is proud to present the WPH Tucson 4-Man Icebreaker, the first official WPH event since February.
“We want to show people that we could safely hold an event with all of the COVID protocols in place,” stated WPH Executive Director David Vincent. “We closed the park, the referee wore a mask, we allowed a limited number of masked, socially distant fans, while ensuring the players were distanced as much as possible.”
Tucsonans David Fink, Shorty Ruiz, Abraham Montijo and Sam Esser kicked off the first Icebreaker, proudly demonstrating that handball can be played safely during this pandemic.
Semifinal #2: David Fink vs. Abraham Montijo:
Former R48 #1 and the second most winning player in the history of the Race 4 Eight tour with 113 wins David Fink met 2019 3-Wall national finalist and former 3WallBall pro doubles champion Abraham Montijo for a spot in the Icebreaker final.
Fink and Montijo were regular outdoor sparring partners in Montijo’s preparation for the 2019 USHA 3-Wall Nationals. “Those matches were so much fun and made me realize how much I loved 3-Wall,” stated Fink. “Abe has a great deep power hop serve and he’s really strong in the overhand game. I’m excited to play Abe at Clark Park.”
