Con Man Jim V Wins the WPH Lifetime Achievement Award

The WPH staff, players, and board of directors proudly honored “Con Man” Jim Verhaeghe with the WPH Lifetime Achievement Award for his incredible diligence, professionalism, and extraordinary efforts in organizing the hospitality for each year’s WPH Race 4 Eight Tucson Memorial.

The WPH is so grateful for Jim’s selfless and unfaltering efforts in painstakingly organizing the hospitality during the Race 4 Eight Tucson Memorial. The WPH is very fortunate to have Jim as a huge part of our team and we look forward to many more years with Jim at the Memorial.

“As most tournament volunteers know, helping at tournaments is often a thankless job,” stated the WPH’s David Fink. “We want to make sure Jim knows how grateful we are for his efforts, not only during his fourteen-hour shifts at the tournament, but also in his meticulous tournament preparation to ensure that all of the Memorial players and fans are treated to endless hospitality.”

DV: David Vincent formed the World Players of Handball in 2005 and ushered live handball viewing into our living rooms for the first time. Since its inception, the World Players of Handball has broadcast over 1,500 matches live. Dave Vincent serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for virtually all matches, combining his unique perspective and personality with a lifetime of handball experience. DV brings 25 years of broadcast radio experience (in Oregon and California) to World Players of Handball & ESPN broadcasts and provides professionalism and wit to the amazing game of handball. DV also serves as the Executive Director of the World Player of Handball at the WPH headquarters in Tucson, AZ, working daily to grow the game of handball through innovation.
