Boulder, CO, WPH Press, 8/10/25

The Colorado Handball Association hosted the 2025 CO State 3-Wall Doubles at the East Boulder Rec Center, one of the premiere outdoor handball facilities in the country in one of the premiere handball destinations in the country, featuring a number of rising stars and a large community of players.

Men’s Pro Doubles

Race 4 Eight pro John Chapman and former SR48 pro George Repine entered the 2025 CO State 3-Wall Doubles as the defending champions and determined to retain their title. Team Chapman/Repine advanced to the final to face Team Gutierrez, who they swept in two games to win last year.

Team Chapman/Repine were forced to dig deep against one of the top brother teams in the country in the final, surviving two competitive games to take the Centennial State.

“The final was tough,” stated CO state champion captain John Chapman. “We started with a 12-5 lead in the first and they started getting more aggressive and making less errors and tied it up at 16 but we ended on a good run to win 21-17. The second game we started off well again and were up 14-3, and it pretty much was just back and forth after that, finishing off at 21-9. Was nice to repeat with George. We play great together and it was a ton of fun playing with him again.

Semifinals

Team Chapman/Repine def Team Martinez/Marzilli 21-8, 21-4

Team Gutierrez def Team Boyd/Barber 21-1, 21-8

Final: Team Chapman/Repine def Team Gutierrez 21-17, 21-9

Thank you to tournament director Reggie Vair and the Colorado Handball Association for a great event.
