ASU Women’s LAX Cross-Trains with Handball

Women’s Lacross Team Training with Handball

The Sun Devil Handball team hosted a cross-training event for the ASU women’s lacrosse club at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex on the ASU campus in Tempe. It was the ladies’ first exposure to handball. After a short discussion on safety and fundamentals, the group entered the courts. Sun Devil handballers Esteban Camacho, Derek Doyle and Chad Simonson instructed the lacrosse club on proper technique and taught them to play short court with the big ball. The ladies quickly made the transition to small ball and then to full court! Two hours later it was time for pizza break before heading off to do homework. Sophomore lax attacker Emily Silagy issued an over-the-shoulder challenge to the handball team, “Thank you for the workout and pizza, but next time, we’ll want you guys to grab a lacrosse stick and practice with us!”
Stay tuned.
