WPH Press: Mulkerrins, Lenning/Chapman, Cordova, and Canales/Montijo Advance at TEDI

The Tucson Elite Doubles Invitational (TEDI) kicked off with intense quarterfinal action on Friday, setting the stage for an exciting semifinal and final round on Saturday. The opening matches delivered a mix of dominant performances and tight contests, with the top teams proving why they are championship contenders.
 
In the quarterfinals, Team Mulkerrins demonstrated powerful teamwork, defeating Team Doyle/Langmack in a solid 15-10, 15-9 victory. Their focus and consistency put them firmly into the next round. The match between Team Lenning/Chapman and Team Esser/Ruiz was a tighter battle, with the first game going down to the wire. Lenning and Chapman ultimately prevailed, showcasing their composure in the crucial moments to win 15-12, 15-7.
 
Team Canales/Montijo faced a formidable challenge from Team Ure/Burgos. After a dominant first game, they were pushed hard in the second, but held on to secure a 15-6, 16-14 win. The final quarterfinal saw Team Cordova deliver a commanding performance against Team Perez/Ortiz, winning convincingly with scores of 15-6, 15-7.
The action continues Saturday, September 20, with the semifinals at 11 am PST, followed by the championship match at 2 pm PST. Fans can expect thrilling matchups as the remaining elite teams compete for the title.
