Tucson, AZ, WPH Press, 10/30/14- The World Players of Handball is proud to present the Race 4 Eight IV Stop #2 featuring current world champion Paul Brady and WPH R48 #1 and Tucson’s own Luis Moreno at the Tucson Racquet Club, 4001 N. Country Club Rd., Tucson AZ 85716 from November 7th-9th, 2014.
Current and four-time world champion Paul Brady, coming in from his home country of Ireland for this event, will be making his first professional start at the famed Tucson Racquet Club on the heels of his dominating victory at the Simple Green U.S. Open in the third week of October. Brady is unquestionably the best player of his generation and arguably the best player of all-time, losing just two matches between 2005-2014, while winning every major title in the sport. Brady will contend with his greatest rival, Tucson’s Luis Moreno, as well as the other top stars in professional handball, including Tucson’s David Fink, Sean Lenning and Abraham Montijo.
“Having Paul Brady at the Tucson R48 stop would be the equivalent of having Roger Federer playing the U.S. Open at the McKale Center or Peyton Manning playing in the Super Bowl at Arizona Stadium,” revealed WPH Executive Director David Vincent. “This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to witness one of the world’s most electrifying athletes.”
Joining Brady, Moreno, Fink, and Lenning in the elite Tucson field will be San Francisco’s Emmett Peixoto, Southern California’s Mando Ortiz and Marcos Chavez, and Milwaukee’s Anthony Selestow. Several dozen players will also travel from the U.S., Mexico, Canada and Ireland to compete for coveted spots in the Tucson R48 field. Play begins Friday morning at 9am, November 7th, and concludes Sunday afternoon, with the finals—all at the Tucson Racquet and Fitness Club on Country Club Road.
