John Duggan Honored at the NYAC
New York, NY, WPH Press, 3/15/15- The World Players of Handball was honored to present NYAC Handball Club President John Duggan with the WPH Race 4 Eight Appreciation Award for his outstanding efforts in bringing world class handball to the New York Athletic Club. John Duggan began his partnership with the WPH in 2008 and gradually increased the NYAC’s role in promoting handball and the WPH each year, culminating in bringing ESPN to the NYAC in 2015. John was a top player in the 1980’s, playing alongside his junior rivals John Bike and Ducksy Walsh and has transferred his passion for playing into tournament directing, reaching the pinnacle of handball tournament organization.
“John is the most professional tournament director in the country,” stated WPH Race 4 Eight pro David Fink. “John is meticulous in ensuring that every detail is covered and that players are provided with the opportunity to shine in one of the world’s most prestigious athletic clubs. Being able to travel to the New York Athletic Club to compete is a thrill and having ESPN cover the action live is incredible.”
The WPH looks forward to returning to the NYAC for many years to come.
