2024 King of the Courts: Tavo Takes the Crown

New York, NY, WPH Press, 7/21/24

The St. Albans Handball Association presented the 2024 King of the Courts at Joseph Austin Playground (Edison Park) in Jamaica, NY, featuring eighty-four of the best men’s big ball 1-Wall singles players at one of the summer’s premiere events.

Tavo Ruiz emphatically captured his first King of the Courts at the 2024 KOTC, decimating the best and largest field of the season. Tavo defeated Carlin Rosa in the quarterfinals, crushed Miguel Mendez in the semifinals and demoralized David Velez in the final.

“Tavo has been playing a lot and working out a lot so he’s in top shape and moving well with great right and left hand corner kills and drives,” stated former multiple-time King of the Court champion and former WPH Outdoor #1 Timbo Gonzalez.

Tavo’s anticipation, ability to play offense and defense with both hands, sensational court coverage and experience has earned him the 2024 USHA 1-Wall Big Ball national title, the 2024 King of the Courts title and made him the unquestioned number one 1-Wall big ball singles player in the world.
