2023 Canadian National 4-Wall Championships In Review

The University of Calgary played host to the 2023 Canadian National 4-Wall Championships, featuring eighty-three players competing in men’s and women’s singles and doubles brackets, in addition to a number of junior brackets.

R48 #28 Niall O’Connor headlined the Men’s Open field that also included Quebec’s Santerre brothers, former Canadian Nationals finalist Shane Vigen and a number of other challengers, while former collegiate national champion Shauna Hilley headlined the Women’s Open singles field.

O’Connor was dominant in winning his first Canadian Nationals, defeating Vincent St-Amant in the semifinals and Jerome Santerre in the final, while Hilley cruised to the women’s title with wins against Jennifer Short and Jenine Wilson.

Men’s Open Singles Final: O’Connor def J. Santerre 21-11, 21-9

Women’s Open Singles Final: Hilly def Wilson 21-6, 21-2

O’Connor slammed by teaming with Raphael Santerre in the open doubles, defeating Jerome Santerre and Vincent St-Amant in two games in the final.
