WPH R48Pro (LTE) Stop #1 ~ Portland Classic: Oct 14-16, 2022

The Multnomah Athletic Club and World Players of Handball are proud to present the fourth Portland Classic/R48Pro (LTE), October 14-16, 2022 at the Multnomah Athletic Club, 1849 SW Salmon St. Portland, OR 97205.

This is stop #1 of the 2022/23 R48Pro Season. Please visit the WPH website for full schedule, rules and viewing options: wphlive.tvIf more than 32 players, then pro starting times may begin Thursday afternoon.  Prize money may increase pending participation.

“We have been thrilled with the first three editions of this event, as we are aiming to continue to build a great tradition each fall with the Portland Classic,” stated co-tournament director Conor Casey. “Adding an official WPH Pro Tour Stop to ‘The Classic’ is a huge boost to the event and the PNW handball community. Our goal is to attract top players from around the country and with the advent of the WPHLiveTV Team, our MAC stands will be packed and rocking with excitement.”

“There are a lot of really good players in Oregon and Great Pacific Northwest and it’s going to be very exciting to watch these superstars battling the best on tour,” stated Race 4 Eight tour administrator and WPH Executive Director Dave Vincent. “Growing up in Oregon myself, and having a chance to play ball at the Multnomah Athletic Club, you could not find anything more exciting.”

This event will be filmed and streamed LIVE by the WPH Broadcast team. Ranking Points and Prize Money pay-outs courtesy of the World Players of Handball …for the Men’s pro singles only. All other divisions will be administered by the local Portland Classic Team.

DV: David Vincent formed the World Players of Handball in 2005 and ushered live handball viewing into our living rooms for the first time. Since its inception, the World Players of Handball has broadcast over 1,500 matches live. Dave Vincent serves as the lead play-by-play announcer for virtually all matches, combining his unique perspective and personality with a lifetime of handball experience. DV brings 25 years of broadcast radio experience (in Oregon and California) to World Players of Handball & ESPN broadcasts and provides professionalism and wit to the amazing game of handball. DV also serves as the Executive Director of the World Player of Handball at the WPH headquarters in Tucson, AZ, working daily to grow the game of handball through innovation.
